The terpenoid content of nearly 1% is considered high, in descending order of its main components: Myrcene. Terpineol, Beta-Caryorhyllene, Alpha-Pinene, Ocimene, Humulene.
Beta-caryophyllene is found naturally in many plants, including hops, black pepper, rosemary and of course, cannabis.
Beta-caryophyllene is not only an ancient terpenoid, but also a phytocannabinoid.
Beta-caryophyllene targets the CB2 receptor. This means that beta-caryophyllene has no psychoactive effects. Several studies have shown that the CB2 receptor plays a critical role in modulating inflammatory and neuropathic pain responses.
